BORN2SKI CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS

Hi Mike.

It was excellent thanks.

Good accommodation (the three-bedroom one you requested) overlooking the town. The walk down the hill was fine for us skiers as we left our skis in the free storage at the base area. We had range of weather, with sun on the first and the last two days.

In between it was snow, some white-outs and more snow, piles of it. All the transfers went very smoothly, though they were pretty long, and I can't think of any hitches. (Except one of my friends had to rush home to UK a few days early!) We even made it to the Smokehouse one night, although generally we all struggled with the size of Colorado food portions!

I think we'd all consider going there again. There terrain was ideal for the intermediates in our group. I was happy with all the black diamonds. A couple of friends exhausted the double back diamonds early on, but they were still pretty happy.

The resort could do with a little investment, e.g. restraining bars on the lift chairs, a quicker Sunshine lift, more facilities at the ski base area.

In fact, my girlfriend and I are already considering next year. We quite liked Colorado, so we are even thinking about booking flights relatively soon then choosing a resort a bit later on. We'd even be happy with Steamboat and the West Condos again, especially if it is only two of us going. Is there anywhere else in Colorado (or the States) you'd recommend for Xmas/New Year? We choose Steamboat originally because of its early season snow record.

Anyway, thanks for all your help. Everything went very smoothly, the accommodation was ideal and the snow was fantastic. What more could we ask for??

See you later,

G M GLASGOW

On behalf of all nine of us that went to Tahoe I would just like to say the biggest thanks ever. We all had an amazing holiday. Went way too quickly but the best holiday I have had in a long time. We had no issues with anything at all and the accommodation in Tahoe was lovely. The car hire worked out really well and very painless at the airport and everyone was so helpful. It was all helped by the wonderful weather we had and if you were involved in that part I would like to say thanks again!!!!

Next year the plan is Canada if you’re interested!!

All I can say is thanks. Everything was so well organised we’ve not had one problem which I think is amazing when trying to organise nine people!!!!

Thanks again

Hi Mike,

Pete & Les in Plymouth here.

Holiday at Copper Mountain was great.
Put into the Copper springs Lodge and not Elk run, so don't know what that place was like.
Got the lift passes on check in and they also threw in the super bee pass that lets you queue jump all day. Room faced away from Copper Mountain itself, and faced the other way towards the I-70
Some of those big rigs going down there made the room shake, but the other side of the lodge was the Copper shuttle bus stops, so I suppose it could have been worse.
2 feet of powder came down the first two days. Cracking scenery that created. Minus 15 with a wind chill of minus 7 tested your gear out. Good holiday good skiing.
Recommend the two hour ski mobile. Fantastic!!

Hope this helps, many thanks,

P M PLYMOUTH

Morning Mike

I know we've been back over a week now, but I just wanted to write and thank you for your efforts in putting the Tahoe trip together.

The whole party had a really good time; accommodation and resort was spot on. Journey there was a killer (Friday night traffic leaving San Fran is as bad as London - over 5 hrs to get to Tahoe!), but had a ball once there.

Cheers

Hi Mike

I hope you are well.

This email is a long time overdue (well about 4 weeks) but I just wanted to write and thank you for all the arrangements you made for our trip to Whistler last month.

The 10 of us had a brilliant time. The skiing was fab; snow conditions were nearly perfect - we even had 3 days of blue skies and sunshine.

Our apartments at Stoney Creek Northstar were great - spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. I would certainly recommend them to anyone going to Whistler. The location was good because it was just a short walk to the slopes and we were far enough away from the village centre not to be bothered by any noise.

It was a really great trip (if only we could afford to go back next year!)

Many thanks again

Hi Mike

So good to see you in Winter Park and getting to spend time skiing with you.

The trip was a big success, but with some horrendous moments!! The travel home was a nightmare! Starting with taking 1 hour to check 20 people in at Denver, which meant the last 2 were going to miss the flight until we screamed and shouted. Flights late, no skis when we got to Manchester (they were later delivered last night at 11 pm).

But the skiing - we finally got powder on Wed at Steamboat and that made up for everything. Never had so much snow, it was super (snowed from Wed till Sat). The Condos at Steamboat were first class (have you seen them - excellent value for money). Jenny was a delight!

Can't thank you enough for all that you did for us and the support you gave me. Look forward now to next year.

A huge Thanks from all the White Star Ski Club and especially from Phil, Jamie and me.

Love

Hi Mike, hope you are well. Compliments of the season to you.

Firstly a massive thank you for organising our ski holiday to Zermatt over the Christmas week, we had an amazing time and I think that is the most beautiful place I've ever seen with the Matterhorn looming large, the altitude and awesome views, the great snow, trees etc etc. The snow and weather was perfect, it even snowed on Christmas morning which a script writer couldn't have organised better! My parents tried out skiing (private tuition), that worked out much better because it eased their concerns about being in a group although it was a hell of a lot more expensive. I was also very impressed with the location of the chalet and the ski runs were perfect. The only quibble we had on the holiday was with the operator, I thought they didn't allow us much privacy at all with chalet staff traipsing through the house the entire time we were there without even knocking. Additionally there were numerous things wrong with the chalet such as the Jacuzzi only working 3 of the 6 nights and the microwave not working. But as I say apart from that aspect of it all, we had an absolutely amazing time and the skiing, tobogganing, eating and drinking was all a huge success!! Many thanks.

As things would have it, I enjoyed that experience so much I am looking to organise another skiing holiday!!

Dear Mike

That is quite a skill you have - getting us to book, in 2008, for the resort that is 2009's biggest hit - Saas Fee. All the previews in the holiday sections of the newspaper are raving about this Swiss resort.

I know I appreciate your expertise in finding our 25-strong group the right venue each year and over the past 6 years you have never failed to deliver. It makes my job as the holiday organiser of Hull & Leeds Ski Club so much easier, with you making sure all the right questions are asked and answered. And now we have got to know you personally, it is also a pleasure. Here's to meeting up in St Anton in 2010

We first approached Mike five years ago looking for a snow sure, lively resort that catered for all levels and offered some unmissable deals and we weren’t disappointed with what we got. Mike was able to use his many contacts to secure us a room at Chalet Jennewein which was ideally situated for lift access, a short walk into town and, soon we found, open to the possibility of a ski home after a night at the legendary après ski bars – the Krazy Kanguruh and the Mooserwirt.

With Lech and Zurs around the corner the available ski area is enormous - able to support beginners, and to offer challenges to even the most seasoned skier. You can’t possibly see it all in a week, which probably explains why we’ve been back five times already. You must try the long run down to Stuben, the restaurant in St Christoph where they have a purpose built slide to take you to the toilets, at least a day in Lech and Zurs, take a leisurely ski up at Rendl Beach and finish off your day skiing down Kandahar before beginning your assault on the après ski bars. If you’re brave enough you can tackle the short ski down from the Krazy Kanguruh after a few Weiss biers or some shots but be careful !!! Stop off for dinner, warm up and hit the town. Aside from its picture postcard beauty St Anton is a real party town with more late night bars and clubs than you can shake a stick at. If that’s not your scene why not try a sauna at the wellness centre – but beware, clothes are not allowed in Austrian saunas !!! Mike introduced us to all of this when he met up with us for our first week at St Anton which added a real personal touch. Since then he’s accompanied us on almost every one of our holidays and introduced us to lots of interesting people, and with his contacts has opened doors to the most unbelievable deals. It is strong testament indeed to Mike’s attention to customer satisfaction that he has become one of our best friends. I haven’t booked a holiday through anyone else for years – and neither would I want to. Book with any of the big companies and you risk sacrificing a quality holiday to put more of your money in their pockets. Book with Mike and he’ll bend over backwards to make sure it’s a holiday you’ll never forget. And if you’re really lucky you’ll meet up with us regulars too !!!

I just wanted to say a very big thank you for organising an amazing holiday for us. The hotel you recommended for us in St Anton was perfectly located and the service was of a very high standard. I was very impressed with the way you quickly came up with several options for me at the booking stage and your detailed knowledge of the resort really gave us confidence in your recommendations. We will certainly be using your services in the future. Thanks Again...

Cheers

Sorry Mike been very busy, right where to start, lets start with the positives, being able to ski in and out of the resort is definitely the way to go, absolutely fantastic, having the ski room, with secure lockers, 10 yards from the door to the slopes, and ski lift, is something that we have never had before, also access to the garage, and rooms, are great, with an array of lifts strung along the building, interconnected by corridors, to the various areas.

Wifi is in the reception area, so talking to loved ones at home on skype, is possible at anytime of the day or night, along with coffee on tap. Leisure facilities are good too, with indoor swimming pool and outside Jacuzzi, all the pistes are well groomed and varied, staff are very friendly and helpful.

Negatives are purely down to the fact that all this comes at a price, the cost of two bar meals came to $82 which equated to roughly £60+ and whilst the breakfast is a fantastic spread, it is a very sterile environment and not pleasurable at all, it appeared to us that the whole resort is more geared to corporate events, rather than individual tourists, which I suppose is probably more cost effective, a large group would brighten the place up no end, it is also a condominium so the rooms are privately owned, and the state of them is dependant on the owner I presume, however saying that our room was fantastic with a balcony overlooking the tube run which gave us many laughs whilst having a drink.

On the whole a fantastic time was had and we will definitely go back there again, lovely place, lovely people.

Regards Paul.

PS MIDLANDS

Mike had a great time in St Anton, resort was great weather terrible but i know you can’t do much about that.

The hotel position was amazing although the rooms were a little out dated and could have done with rooms been seen and cleaned more regularly. I thought 3 * was generous, the staff there were great very helpful and all your recommendations to eat spot on.

We will probably look at something for next year similar time we were all thinking Ischgl. So will call you early October to arrange. Thanks again for all your info it was much appreciated.

Dear Mike

We really enjoyed our trip – many thanks. Please find below our review of the resort:

Hotel Tirol

A small hotel with really friendly service. We were made to feel very welcome; all the staff spoke excellent English. We particularly enjoyed the food, which was much better than anticipated. We have travelled quite extensively over the years and my husband and I felt that the quality of meals we had there were some of the best we have ever had! The breakfast had hot food, which was unusual for a European hotel and an excellent selection of breads and jams etc. Dinner was five courses, with a soup, starter, buffet salad, choice of main meal and dessert. All the food was beautifully presented and the soups were quite delicious.

The location was reasonable and as good as any other in the village. The bus stop was just a couple of minutes away and one could get to the slopes within 30-45 minutes (changing bus at the bus station). If you timed it right, you could get a direct bus right up to the ski slope. We particularly enjoyed coming back after our tiring ski to relax in the open-air pool. It was quite an amazing feeling to be out in the open surrounded by beautiful mountains and watch the snow come down on our heads – this is something we have not experienced before and the kids in particular really enjoyed it. The Jacuzzi within the indoor part of that pool helped to ease our aching joints. The spa and sauna area were relatively new and beautifully maintained, there was a lovely room where one can sleep wrapped up in soft woolly blankets. Again, the facilities were of a much higher standard than we had expected. We had anticipated going to the Alpen Therme in the town centre, however did not need to do this as we had everything we needed at the hotel.

Although the rooms were small and basically furnished, the hospitality, food and facilities more than made up for this. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

Hope this is ok. Kind regards

Hi Mike, hope you're well.

Just wanted to pop you a quick note now that we're back to say we had a really good time in Mayrhofen. I see what you mean about the lively après ski!! Funny enough there was actually too much snow, 5 of the 6 days it snowed on the slopes with a few days being a complete "whiteout" which also resulted in tons of powder and moguls which made skiing very interesting. So that was great although we could have done with a bit more sunshine.

Off the slopes was really good, loved the music and the après ski bars and we had many a late night!!

Accommodation was simple but more than adequate and the hotel food was good.

Anyway, thanks again Mike, really appreciate all the effort you went to, great recommendation.

Cheers Dave
