Copper Mountain in USA Resort Guide
Copper Mountain is a purpose built, convenient compact resort offering an easy walk, or short free shuttlebus to the lifts from most accommodation centres. Described by some as soulless it is however a well organised user friendly resort which is now enjoying huge, constant investment from its owners. Great play is made on the fact that the runs are so logically laid out. To the west, (right as you look up the ski area) the tree lined trails are easiest and as you move east (left) they become more difficult. While much of the terrain is best suited to beginners and early intermediates the bowls at the top of Copper and Union peaks have a good few chutes, powder havens, and cornices to keep the more advanced skiers and boarders amused.
Accomodation & Après Ski
Copper Mountain village was built around 20 years ago and most of the accommodation is condominium based, although there is also the Foxpine Inn hotel and the only Club Med ski village in North America. There are basically three sections to the village. The Village Center contains much of the nightlife, retail outlets and eateries and the high speed American Eagle and American Flyer high speed quads. The East Village is clustered around the base station for the B lift and offers some of the more modestly priced accommodation; some bars and restuarants.
